Four locations, four different accommodation decisions
Choose where you will spend your days first. A Himara address can mean the central beach, another bay or the old village. The grouping below is an editorial search guide, not a newly verified official district map.

Spile and the centre: start with the everyday walking route
Spile is the central beach area many travellers use when comparing the town. Historical primary descriptions call Spilea the central beach. For a stay combining beach time and the centre, this would be my first search area.
Addresses within it still differ. Rea gives the harbour as its address; Geo & Art is in the central beach area and Himara Hostel is inland. Compare the final route to the beach, room aspect and arrival with bags. A central label does not establish a level route or a quiet room.

Potami: choose the beach address, not just Himara
Potami, also written Potam, is a separately named beach and address area. Start searching here when that beach is the point of the stay. Dhima is an actual option at a Potami address.
Consider the hours outside beach time too. Ask the property about the usable route into the centre, drop-off and entrance. We give no fixed walking minutes or assurance that a route is level throughout or suitable for a pushchair. Noise and beach services depend on the actual address, room and dates.

Livadhi: treat the bay as its own base
Livadhi, also called Livadh, is a separate beach choice. A stay there differs from a room at Spile. Miamar’s website confirms its Shen Varvara address in Livadh.
Choose Livadhi when you deliberately want time in that bay. Decide how to arrive, where to eat and how any evening in the centre would work before booking. Do not assume a continuous promenade or a fixed taxi or bus service because both addresses are marketed under Himara.

The old village and castle: a historic setting above the coast
Albania’s tourism agency describes the old castle complex on a hill above the town and sea, with old dwellings and cobbled alleys. Accommodation by the old village is therefore a different choice from a room in a beach area.
Start here when the historic setting is a major part of the stay. Treat beach visits as a separate journey and ask where a car or taxi can actually stop. Have the property explain the final approach, any steps and luggage help for the actual address. The five stays below are not an old-village shortlist.

Himara Hostel

The property website offers dorms and private rooms. This is an option when you deliberately want a hostel and shared spaces fit the stay. Compare the product per person or per room.
A private room does not automatically mean a private bathroom: the indexed room list includes a double with a shared bathroom. Indexed house rules mention cash payment; confirm the bathroom and payment method for your reservation.

The property website describes a small collection of rooms at the harbour address. Consider this base when the central waterfront fits your daily plans, then compare the actual room.
The room list includes explicit sea-view categories; do not infer the outlook only from the general hotel photograph. Confirm the parking entrance and luggage drop-off by the harbour. General winter wording on the website does not confirm facilities on your dates.

Compare the address with your beach and route
Find the actual property and its entrance. Spile, Potami, Livadhi and the old village are different starting points; a general “Himara” label is not enough. This is a commercial map through Stay22.

Arrival, three coastal nights and room choice
With or without a car: arrange the final approach
Without a car, I would compare Spile first when most days will be built around the centre and beach. Choose Potami or Livadhi when that beach area is the goal and arrival and other outings have been arranged. These are planning choices, not promises of a particular bus service.
With a car, start with the parking: is it included, does it need a reservation, where is the entrance, and can luggage be dropped at the property? A pin beside a coastal road does not show that you can stop directly outside reception.
- Ask the property for the actual entrance or drop-off location.
- Share your expected arrival time, especially for a late transfer.
- Confirm return transport before an evening or outing you do not want to walk back from.
- Check the current service for your date; local stops, fares and frequencies have not been reverified here.
Three nights in Himara within your itinerary
Our published 10-day and 14-day itineraries both use three nights in Himara. That leaves two days after arrival to arrange from the same stay. You do not need to check in again for every bay.
For a Spile stay, a town-beach day can be the starting point. At Potami or Livadhi, I would keep the first full day in the chosen beach area. Use the other day for what fits weather, transport and energy: another bay, the old village or another day in the same place. This is a sample arrangement, not a fixed activity programme.
The main car-free itinerary uses Saranda as its coastal base. To substitute Himara, check the entire outward and return journey before replacing the hotel. This new stay guide does not change that existing route choice.
Compare the room, beach terms and total price
Compare the same nights, guests, room allocation and cancellation terms. A hostel bed, a private room with a shared bathroom and a sea-view hotel room are different products. Choose what you need before sorting by the lowest price.
For a beach or pool label, ask what your rate includes, for how many guests and on which dates. Also compare breakfast, parking, taxes, deposit and payment timing. A direct hotel policy need not match the conditions of an OTA offer.
- Choose an explicit sea-view category if the outlook determines the booking.
- Confirm family layout, a cot or connecting rooms when the plan depends on them.
- Ask about room aspect when music, traffic or building work could change the choice.
- Outside busy summer weeks, check which facilities operate on your dates.
