How many bases are manageable?
A week works with Tirana plus one inland or coast base. Ten days can add a stone city. Add the Alps only when season and transfer chain suit everyone.
Which transport fits the family?
A car gives break flexibility but requires verified child seats, parking and calm driving. The major-town bus spine works; bridge one awkward edge privately if needed.
What does the room need?
Prioritise quiet rooms, cooling, safe walking access, food nearby and a heat or rain fallback.
Check before the first booking
- Ask which child seat suits your child and whether the provider can actually confirm it.
- Ask the property to describe the room layout, stairs, cooling and walking route to meals.
- Leave time for food and rest after a transfer. Remove an outing if it would occupy the only free afternoon.
- Check each child’s documents and any consent needed when not all legal guardians travel. Use government guidance for your nationality.
Airport bus with children
On Luna, a child using a seat pays the full fare. Count seats, not only adults, when comparing the bus with a family taxi. Contact Luna before a night journey with a large pushchair or substantial luggage. A taxi quote should also specify the agreed child seat.
