Choose transport for your actual arrival
If starting in Tirana and staying several nights in Berat, check buses first. You avoid collecting a car and parking in the old quarters. A private transfer may suit a late flight, substantial luggage or a group otherwise needing several connections. Compare the total for everyone.
Arriving through Tirana Airport does not automatically require a city-centre detour or overnight stay. First establish whether you can reach the regional terminal in time. Then decide between continuing and spending the first night in Tirana.

Departure point and tickets
The reviewed Tibe listings on Gjirafa name South and North Terminal and Berat Station. Use the map location for the service you select. The regional terminal is different from the airport-bus stop behind the Opera and Ballet building. Save the operator, departure location and contact offline.
On 6 November 2026, individual listings showed €7 and approximately 2h15–20. These are published booking examples, not guaranteed walk-up fares or a complete timetable. Choose your date and check the service conditions. When buying locally, establish payment, luggage charges and the correct bus before boarding. An online offer does not mean every local departure is listed.
From Tirana Airport to the regional terminal
The airport publishes a separate terminal shuttle: airport to South and North Terminal 08:00–18:00, hourly, with a stated 20–30-minute journey and 300 lek or €3.50 fare. The published reverse service starts at 07:00. Recheck these details before travelling.
Begin your connection calculation when you are outside with your luggage. Add the shuttle wait, journey and interchange. A flight landing before the last bus does not establish a workable connection. Outside a useful operating window, compare a transfer with an overnight stop; the 24-hour city-centre bus follows a different route.
Arriving in Berat: allow for the final approach
Berat Station is not in the middle of the historic quarters. Ask your property where to get off and how to reach its entrance. The tourism site describes a terminal outside the old centre but dates its transport information to December 2022, so we do not repeat those old fares or hours as current.
For Mangalem, Gorica or a castle-quarter stay, the access route and gradients can matter more than map distance. Explain your luggage needs and ask about a useful taxi drop-off or local connection. Avoid reserving a timed visit immediately after the expected bus arrival.
