Choose between a valley stay and a through-hike
A valley stay uses one guesthouse as a base for Theth church, local lanes, Grunas waterfall or other walks chosen for current conditions. A through-hike to Valbona changes every booking: luggage, the next room, trail condition and transport out of the opposite valley. Decide which journey you are making before reserving accommodation.
Two valley nights provide only one full day. Three give a weather or recovery margin. A single night after a long road transfer rarely justifies the effort unless Theth is one link in a carefully confirmed chain.

Name the walk and the turnaround rule
‘Walk around Theth’ is not a safety plan. Name the intended destination, understand ascent and terrain, check water and daylight, and agree a turnaround time. The Blue Eye near Nderlysa is not the same place as the Blue Eye near Sarandë; transport and walking conditions differ.
Grunas waterfall and valley routes can still be slippery, hot or affected by changing access. Ask locally, carry navigation and do not follow a social-media duration as if it were a guarantee.

Arrival day should end before dark
Confirm the Shkodër meeting point, operator, luggage allowance and property drop-off. Road conditions and timing vary, so keep the first evening free. Store unnecessary luggage in Shkodër only through an arrangement you trust.
After the mountains, protect the next fixed booking. Do not combine the return to Shkodër, a cross-country transfer and an international flight in one chain.
