Choose valley walks, guesthouse time and viewpoints according to current conditions and fitness.
Choose between a valley stay and a through-hike
A valley stay uses one guesthouse as a base for Theth church, local lanes, Grunas waterfall or other walks chosen for current conditions. A through-hike to Valbona changes every booking: luggage, the next room, trail condition and transport out of the opposite valley. Decide which journey you are making before reserving accommodation.
Two valley nights provide only one full day. Three give a weather or recovery margin. A single night after a long road transfer rarely justifies the effort unless Theth is one link in a carefully confirmed chain.

How much time do you need?
Two or three nights in the valley
Our recommendation: two nights for one full walking day, three for another chance if the weather is unsuitable. The 14-day itinerary includes two nights; a third requires removing a night elsewhere. A booked transfer does not establish that a mountain trail is passable.
Where to stay
Choose a guesthouse around your walking plan and agreed drop-off. Confirm meals, luggage and the return transfer. For the Valbona crossing, the next room must also fit trail conditions and direction.

A Valbona through-hike needs separate luggage, trail and onward-transport planning.
Protect the return before your flight
Confirm road transfer and return before a flight; keep one recovery night outside the mountains.
Shkodër–Theth: a specific minibus option
Ferry Berisha offers online-bookable minibuses between Hotel Rozafa, Shkodër and Mini Market Jezerca, Theth. Its fare page lists €12 per person each way. Published departure/arrival pairs imply about 1½–2½ hours in the vehicle; add waiting and the final journey to your guesthouse separately.
The sources give different morning departure times. Use the time on your confirmed booking. Confirm luggage rules and the onward approach to your guesthouse: this service does not promise a drop-off at every property.

Practical preparation
Name the walk and the turnaround rule
‘Walk around Theth’ is not a safety plan. Name the intended destination, understand ascent and terrain, check water and daylight, and agree a turnaround time. The Blue Eye near Nderlysa is not the same place as the Blue Eye near Sarandë; transport and walking conditions differ.
Grunas waterfall and valley routes can still be slippery, hot or affected by changing access. Ask locally, carry navigation and do not follow a social-media duration as if it were a guarantee.
